Etse Yawo Dzakpa is a Ph.D. Scholar in the Graduate Study Program of West Africa Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), studying climate change economics at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Senegal. His interests include energy poverty alleviation in developing countries through renewable energy deployment, climate change mitigation, natural resources and environmental management, and circular economy by agribusiness development. These subjects have allowed him to undertake specific study programs, resulting in a strong academic background. Dzakpa obtained his master’s degree in Naturals Resources and Environmental Economics as Interuniversity Graduate Program (CIEREA-PTCI) Scholar in 2019 at Felix Houphouet Boigny University (Côte d’Ivoire). This program allowed him to participate in team workshops with several people from eighteen francophone countries in Cote d’Ivoire and Congo Brazzaville in 2017. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2014 from the University of Kara (Togo) with a specialization in Economics and International Finance. Currently, Dzakpa is working on the synergies between climate change mitigation policies and energy poverty alleviation in West Africa and is also a 2021 African Graduate Mentorship and Coaching Program (AGMCP) fellow. He attended and presented paper on climate change mitigation and income inequality in Africa, circular bioeconomy, and renewable energy deployment and inclusive human development in ECOWAS country respectively at the 27th International Sustainable Development Research Society Conference July 2021, the 3rd All Africa Post-Harvest Congress and Exhibition hosted by Africa Union September 2021, and “3ieme Conference International sur la Francophonie Economique March 2022”. Dzakpa is also an Associate Member at Pan-African Scientific Research Council since 2021
